MEDIA CAN PLAY A KEY ROLE IN THE PERMANENT CONSTITUTION MAKING PROCESS-NPC SOUTH SUDAN

JUBA, 11th May, National Press Club South Sudan (NPC-SS) on Tuesday has taken part in the two days consultative Workshop on the role of the media in the permanent Constitution-Making Process in South Sudan organized by UNESCO, UN Women and UNMISS.

“NPC believe media can play a key role in the process of this permanent constitution making process”, said NPC South Sudan representative.

The two days’ consultative workshop under the theme” Supporting south Sudan’s peace Building process towards a legitimate and effective constitutional framework at Palm Africa Hotel, Juba.

NPC South Sudan Calls on Authorities in South Sudan to ensure freedom of expression is respected

Ochaya James Philip, Executive Director of National Press Club South Sudan, speaking on Monday ahead of World Press Freedom Day in Juba.

 

JUBA, 3rd May, the executive director of National Press Club South Sudan, Mr. Ochaya James, on Monday has urged the authorities in the country to ensure freedom of expression is respected. Mr. Ochaya made the call during the world press freedom Day in Juba.

“We call on the government and all other authorities to ensure freedom of expression is respected in every part of the society”, Ochaya James Philip, Executive Director of National Press Club South Sudan, speaking on Monday ahead of World Press Freedom Day in Juba.

The World Press Freedom day 2021, kicked off in South Sudan today with a series of webinar discussions under the theme “Information As A Public Good”. The event was attended by media stakeholders and partners in South Sudan.

The panelists will discuss three main topics on, Understanding Information as Public Good, Media Independence and sustainability and Legal and Policy overview. NPC South Sudan is happy to be part of this year’s event.
